Barbara Krasnoff is officially the reviews editor for The Verge, but although she has done a great deal of reviewing in her time, she doesn’t tend to do a lot of it in her current position. “I was originally hired here to write and edit to-do articles,” she explains. “Now, I spend most of my time editing, overseeing various projects, and coaxing staffers to write about their favorite stuff.”

Where did you first hear about the Dell mobile adapter?

I didn’t actually hear about it — I saw it at a trade event here in New York City a few years ago. Dell was showing off some of its new products, and one of the accessories was this little puck-looking item with several ports around its periphery. But the neatest thing was that it had its own USB-C connector on a short cable that revealed itself when you spun the base in a clockwise direction. Then, when you spun it counterclockwise, the cable pulled neatly back into the base. It looked both ingenious and useful, and as soon as it was available, I bought one for myself.

Why did you want one?

My first laptops had lots of ports, but as the computers got thinner, the ports began to disappear. Eventually, most of the laptops I used only had one or two USB-C ports for anything I wanted to physically connect to my device. This little adapter lets me use a variety of different connectors, including some that belong to my older devices.

What do you like about it?

As I mentioned before, it includes a number of different ports, some of which are no longer in use but I prefer to have on hand. The model I have, the DA300, comes with an ethernet port, a USB-C and USB-A port, an HDMI port, a VGA port, and a DisplayPort. There are other, newer models with a different selection of ports.

I also think the whole spin-the-disk-and-the-cable-disappears thing is a lot of fun.

Is there anything about it that you dislike, or that you think could be improved?

A slot for a microSD card would have been handy. And a color other than black might have been nice.

Just FYI: Dell has replaced my model with the DA305, which trades the VGA port for a second USB-A port and switches up the USB from 3.1 to 3.2. Amazon still seems to be carrying the DA300, but I’m not sure how long that’s going to last.

Who would you recommend it to?

There are a lot of good desk-based adapters out there, but this one is great for popping into your backpack just in case you need it.

The latest Apple Watch SE — which is currently on sale for 32 percent off — is a gateway smartwatch if there ever was one. | Photo: Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

In September, Apple launched its latest smartwatch, introducing the Apple Watch Series 10 alongside a black rendition of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Each wearable has its own pros and cons, as does the second-gen Apple Watch SE, but the introduction of Apple’s newest wearables also means there are now more Apple Watch models on the market than ever before — and a lot more deals to be had.

But with all of those options, which one should you pick? Generally speaking, you want to buy the newest watch you can afford so that it continues to receive software updates from Apple. The latest update, watchOS 11, launched in September on the Series 6 and newer models, ultimately leaving those still using an older Series 4 or 5 behind. Fortunately, the next iteration of watchOS will continue to support the same devices when it arrives in the fall, even if Apple is revamping its naming convention in a bid to standardize its operating system names.

All that being said, picking up a watch from the latest (or a recent) generation ensures you’re getting a smartwatch with an updated design, a robust number of features, and plenty of sensors.

Now, let’s get to the deals.

The best Apple Watch Series 10 deals

Apple Watch Series 10 (42mm, GPS)

Where to Buy:

Apple Watch Series 10 (46mm, GPS)

Where to Buy:

The Apple Watch Series 10 represents the latest wearable in Apple’s flagship Series lineup. It features the new S10 SiP chip, faster charging, and a wide-angle OLED display that’s brighter, larger, and easier to read than that of previous models. It weighs half as much as the Ultra, too, and is about 30 percent thinner despite its new 42mm and 46mm sizing. Other upgrades include an added depth and water temperature sensor, as well as a new FDA-cleared sleep apnea detection feature, the latter of which is also available on the last-gen Series 9 and Ultra 2.

While the improvements are welcome, the Series 10 isn’t a vast departure from the prior model, the Series 9. That said, it’s currently on sale at Amazon and Walmart right now in the 42mm sizing with GPS starting at $299 ($100 off), which is just $20 shy of its recent Prime Day low. The 46mm variant, meanwhile, is on sale at Amazon and Walmart starting at $329 (also $10 off) — which is the second-best price we’ve seen on the larger configuration — while the LTE models can be had at Amazon and Walmart starting at around $379.99 ($120 off).

The best Apple Watch SE deals

Where to Buy:

2022 Apple Watch SE (44mm, GPS)

Where to Buy:

The Apple Watch SE received a refresh in late 2022. It has the same chipset as the Series 8, which is great, but with fewer sensors, no always-on display, and a slightly outdated design compared to the Series 8, 9, and 10. Those omissions might take this out of the running for some people, but it still may be exactly what you’re after. Best of all, it starts at $249 for the 40mm Wi-Fi / GPS model, which is $30 less than the previous generation’s baseline cost. Opting for cellular connectivity increases the starting price to $299 for the 40mm size (the 44mm size adds $20 to each configuration).

Right now, the best deal on the latest SE can be found at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy, where you can pick up the 40mm model with GPS starting at $169 ($80 off). The 44mm / GPS configuration, meanwhile, is available from the same retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy) starting at $199 ($80 off). If you want the LTE configuration, the 40mm model is on sale at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy starting at $219 (also $80 off), which is about $20 shy of the best price we’ve seen on the entry-level LTE configuration.

Read our Apple Watch SE (second-gen) review.

The best Apple Watch Ultra 2 deals

The latest Apple Watch Ultra launched at $799 in September with GPS and LTE support, much like the original model. The ultra-capable smartwatch has the most features, sensors, and ruggedness of any Apple Watch model available thus far, along with a display that’s 50 percent brighter than the first Ultra. The 49mm smartwatch also packs Apple’s S9 SiP and second-gen ultra wideband chips, just like the Apple Watch Series 9, while maintaining long-lasting battery life, precise GPS tracking, and a bevy of diving-friendly sensors.

Thanks to Amazon Prime Day, we recently saw the Apple Watch Ultra 2 dip to as low as $649 ($150 off) in select configurations. Currently, however, it’s only on sale at Amazon with a Trail Loop starting at $741.89 (about $59 off) or an Alpine Loop starting at $754.72 (about $44 off). You can also pick it up at retailers like Best Buy and Target in various configurations, though only for its full retail price of $799.

Read our Apple Watch Ultra 2 review.

A note on the more premium models

While all of the Apple Watch models and colorways covered here are encased in aluminum (except the Ultra 2, which has a titanium build), Apple does make a more premium range built out of stainless steel and titanium. These offerings are functionally and aesthetically similar to their aluminum counterparts, with slightly refined colors and finishings — polished for the stainless steel and brushed for the titanium. However, they start at much steeper prices of $699 and above. They, too, can often be found on sale, but they’re never discounted as low as the standard base models, so we don’t include them here.

While the best iPad deals usually land during major sale events like Black Friday and Prime Day, many great iPad deals are available outside of those times. The day-to-day discounts come and go like changing winds, so there’s often some amount to be saved, particularly on Apple’s most affordable iPad. The most recent iPad Pro and iPad Mini are also regularly discounted, as is the latest iPad Air.

It’s difficult to know where exactly you can find the most notable iPad deals unless you’re scouring the major retailers on a daily basis. But that’s often what our deal hunters at The Verge are doing, so let us help you out. Below, we’ve listed the best deals you can get on each iPad model that is available, from the 11th-gen entry-level iPad to the more powerful models with M3 and M4 chips, all of which are set to receive Apple’s iPadOS 26 update when it arrives in the fall.

The best iPad (2025) deals

Apple’s 11th-gen iPad landed on the scene in March 2025. The newest base model tablet is a fairly iterative update of the prior model, but with 128GB of base storage (as opposed to 64GB) and the A16 Bionic chip, which is nearly 30 percent faster than the A14 chip used in the 10th-gen iPad. That being said, the newer chip doesn’t support the various Apple Intelligence features introduced in iPadOS 18.1 and subsequent updates. For that, you’ll want to opt for a more recent iPad Air, iPad Mini, or iPad Pro model.

Pricing-wise, the new iPad starts at $349 with Wi-Fi and 128GB of storage. You can also upgrade to 256GB or 512GB of storage for an additional $100 or $200, respectively, or purchase an LTE model starting at $499. We haven’t seen significant price drops yet, although the entry-level model is currently on sale at Amazon, Walmart, and Target starting at $299 ($50 off). Alternatively, you can purchase the 256GB model at Amazon, Walmart, and Target starting at $399 ($50 off), or the 512GB variant at Amazon and Walmart starting at $595 ($54 off).

The best iPad Mini (2024) deals

The seventh-gen iPad Mini is similar in several ways to the previous model, but comes with some big internal upgrades. It includes faster Wi-Fi and USB-C speeds, support for the Apple Pencil Pro, and a newer A17 Pro processor with 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence. Otherwise, it boasts nearly identical specs and features as the last-gen model, meaning it has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, and options for 5G. It may not be worth upgrading if you already own a sixth-gen Mini, but newcomers to the category will appreciate the upgrades.

The 2024 iPad Mini starts at $499 with 128GB of storage, which was the price for the previous generation’s 64GB model. Electing for 256GB of storage brings the price up to $599, and the cellular models start at $649. These are some big numbers for a small iPad, so the larger iPad Air might be worth considering if you prefer your dollar to go further with more screen real estate. But if you want an Apple tablet in the smallest possible form factor, this is where the action is.

Right now, the 128GB base model with Wi-Fi is on sale at Amazon starting at $474 ($25 off). We saw the price drop to $379 for this model over Prime Day, highlighting just how much you can save during big events. You can also pick up the 256GB variant at Amazon for $589 ($10 off), or the 512GB model at Amazon for $699 ($100 off).

The best iPad Air (2025) deals

The 2025 iPad Air is little more than a spec bump over the previous model, with a few technical upgrades that should allow it to last longer into the future than either the entry-level iPad or the last-gen Air. It features an M3 chip with support for Apple Intelligence, plus compatibility with Apple’s latest Magic Keyboard that has a larger trackpad and an extra row of function keys. In short, the Air is a credible laptop replacement.

The 11-inch model starts at $599 and the 13-inch variant $799 — the same price as prior models — but it’s common to see discounts from third-party retailers. Right now, for instance, the 11-inch Air is on sale at Amazon, Walmart, and B&H Photo in its base configuration with Wi-Fi and 128GB of storage starting at $549 ($50 off). You can also grab the 256GB model at Amazon, Walmart, and B&H Photo starting at $639 ($60 off), or the step-up 512GB model at Amazon starting at $818 ($81 off).

The larger 13-inch model, meanwhile, is on sale at Amazon and Walmart with 128GB of storage starting at $730 ($70 off). You can also pick up the Wi-Fi / 256GB model at Amazon and Walmart starting at $820 ($79 off), or the 512GB variant at Amazon for $999 ($100 off).

The best iPad Pro (2024) deals

The 2024 iPad Pro is a far more impressive upgrade than the latest iPad Air. The 11- and 13-inch models start at $999 and $1,299, respectively, and they were the first Apple devices to feature the company’s latest M4 chip, which brings moderate performance gains and dedicated hardware for on-device Apple Intelligence processing. The new Pro models can claim other firsts, too, such as being the first iPad models with OLED displays and the lightest Pros yet, which is true of both sizes. They also feature repositioned front-facing cameras that sit along the horizontal edge (also found in the 11th-gen iPad), which prevent you from looking as though you’re staring off into space on a video call.

As for deals, the 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi / 256GB of storage is currently on sale at Amazon and B&H Photo starting at $899.99 ($100 off). The sleek and super-thin 13-inch model, meanwhile, is on sale in its 256GB base configuration at Amazon starting at $1,185 ($114 off), or in its 512GB configuration at Amazon starting at $1,366 ($133 off). Amazon, Walmart, and B&H Photo also have the 2TB model for $2,099 ($200 off) if you’re looking for the most storage possible to hold your apps, photos, and videos.

Update, July 16th: Updated to reflect current pricing / availability, and mentioned that the 10th-gen iPad is no longer readily available to purchase. Brandon Russell also contributed to this post.

Day one of Prime Day is in the books. The good news? Almost all of the great deals survived the night, and we’re monitoring them all right here in our Prime Day day two post. As such, the post below will no longer be updated.

Original article follows below.

Prime Day, Amazon’s four-day thunderdome of exclusive deals, is here. Outside of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we anticipate this to be the best moment of the year to score discounts on headphones, laptops, TVs, gaming gear, and really anything else that might be on your wishlist — or someone else’s. We sorted through thousands of deals, ultimately narrowing them down to include products we’ve tried (many of which we’ve reviewed) and can vouch for.

To repeat, there will be four — count ’em — four days of deals aimed at Prime subscribers, which means you have double the amount of time to save this year. We don’t expect each new day to wipe the slate clean of previous deals and introduce brand-new ones; however, there will likely be some time-sensitive lighting discounts added at intervals throughout, sprinkled on like a garnish. Also, some big retailers outside of Amazon, including Walmart and Best Buy, are also slashing prices, so we’ve added more purchasing options whenever possible.

Prime Day highlights

 • Have a Switch 2? 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 wireless controller is a cheaper alternative to the pricey Switch 2 Pro Controller — and better in some ways. It’s $55.99 at Amazon ($15 off).
 • Apple’s 2020 MacBook Air with the M1 chip has no business being a good value still in 2025. The laptop’s design is the most outdated thing about it, but its processor, along with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage make it a good entry-level Mac, especially at Walmart’s discounted $599.99 price (was $649.99).
 • A solid soundbar that can automatically rotate itself to fire sound upwards for Dolby Atmos content seems like it’d be expensive, but Vizio’s 5.1.2. Elevate SE system is actually just $299 at Amazon ($200 off).
 • For those who are ready to take the plunge on a 65-inch OLED TV, this excellent Prime Day deal at Amazon slashes $300 off the cost of Samsung’s S85D. This OLED TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports, a 120Hz refresh rate with VRR, and incredible picture quality. However, Samsung doesn’t support Dolby Vision HDR, so that’s missing here.
 • Keep mosquitos at bay with Thermacell’s rechargeable repeller, which costs $17.68 (half off) at Amazon for the version that lasts five hours per charge. It runs on cartridges, but a 12-hour one is included in the box.
 • It’s a good time to need new AirPods, because Apple’s AirPods Pro that come with a USB-C charging case are $100 off for the first time at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.
 • Genki’s small M.2 2230-sized enclosure called the SavePoint is $39.99 when you clip the on-page coupon at Amazon. You can use it as a speedy USB-C SSD with any device, but it shines when connected to a Steam Deck because it has two USB-C ports (one for data, the other for power passthrough to keep the handheld charged). Here’s how to use it to run Windows on your Steam Deck.
 • Hoto’s rechargeable screwdriver is a both a Verge-favorite and a reader-favorite, and it’s discounted for Prime Day. It’s $36.99 (originally $79.99) at Amazon for the 3.6V screwdriver, 25 steel bits, and a sleek carrying case to contain it all. There’s an on-page coupon to save an extra 10 percent, too.

Where to Buy:

Bose QuietComfort Headphones

Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones, which replace the QuietComfort 45, have adjustable noise cancellation and the ability to set custom modes. However, they lack immersive audio mode and the higher-quality Bluetooth found in the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.

Where to Buy:

 • The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE are a decent-sounding pair of earbuds with ANC, and they’re down to a new low $54.99 ($45 off) at Amazon. The entry-level earbuds offer reliable performance and satisfactory sound — especially at this price — though they lack wireless charging, multipoint support, and some of the newer frills found on Samsung’s flagship earbuds. That said, they also come with a pair of silicone “wings” to help them stay firmly planted in place, which some considered a hallmark of prior models. Read our review.
 • If you’re an Apple user, there’s no better pair of starter buds than the open-style AirPods 4, which have fallen to a new low of $89 ($41 off) at Amazon and Walmart. The latest model sounds significantly better than the third-gen pair, particularly when it comes to voice calls. More importantly, they offer robust integration with the rest of the Apple ecosystem, letting you take advantage of audio sharing, automatic device switching, hands-free “Hey Siri” commands, Apple TV integration, and more. Read our review.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

Samsung’s premium Galaxy Buds 3 Pro sport the same stem-based design and pinch gestures as the standard Galaxy Buds 3, only they deliver better sound, improved ANC, and an in-ear fit with silicone tips. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

 • Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 are on sale at Amazon for $169.99 ($60 off), which is about $10 shy of their best price to date. They’re a pretty notable step up from the prior model — particularly if you use a Pixel phone — with a smaller build, an excellent transparency mode, and some of the best battery life you can get in a pair of noise-canceling earbuds. Read our review.
 • Sony’s newer WH-1000XM6 are our No. 1 pick for the best ANC headphones, but the prior model remains an excellent alternative at $298, their current price on Amazon. The WH-1000XM5 still offer top-tier noise cancellation and superb sound, along with a helpful transparency mode, multipoint Bluetooth support, and other handy features. The only real downside, aside from the plasticky build, is the fact that they don’t fold down like the XM4 and this year’s XM6. Read our review.

Sony WH-1000XM4

Sony’s last-last-gen ANC headphones still offer great sound, last up to 30 hours on a single charge, and provide a comfortable listening experience thanks to their plush ear pads. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

Beats Studio Buds Plus

The Beats Studio Buds Plus offer better sound and noise cancellation than the original pair, and they now come in a unique translucent color option. Read our review.
A photo of Beats’ translucent Studio Buds Plus earbuds.

Where to Buy:

 • Other than the Beats Studio Buds Plus above, there aren’t a ton of reputable pairs of wireless earbuds that rely on a see-through design. The newer WF-C710N do, however, and they’ve reached a new low price of $78 ($41 off) at Amazon for Prime Day. What’s more, the budget-minded earbuds also borrow some tricks from Sony’s pricier earbuds, including improved noise cancellation and battery life, an automatic pause feature, and touch buttons that allow you to control playback without whipping out your phone.
 • Sony’s Float headphones are currently down to $78 ($52 off) at Amazon, which is significantly less than their previous low of $108. The Float represent Sony’s take on open-ear headphones, and while we haven’t had a chance to test them (yet), they seem to offer similar features to their like-minded rivals, including IPX4 water resistance, USB-C charging, and generous ear hooks that are designed to keep them firmly in place while you run.

Nothing Ear (a)

Nothing’s Ear (a) earbuds have the same general design as the company’s previous earbuds — but you can get these in a snazzy yellow. They include ANC, more than decent sound quality, and other features like multipoint for just under $100. Read our impressions.

Where to Buy:

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2

Shokz’ best bone conduction headphones yet, with more booming bass than its predecessor. Our reviewer Victoria Song praised their cozy fit as well as their USB-C charging (goodbye, proprietary charger!). Read our review.

Where to Buy:

 • The recently released Skullcandy Method 360 ANC are down to a new low of $79.88 ($50 off) at Amazon for Prime Day. They’re basically a pair of low-end Bose earbuds in disguise — hell, they even use licensed technology and audio tuning by Bose — which means they offer well-balanced sound, solid battery life, and a number of great features for the price. They also block noise more effectively than previous Skullcandy offerings and come in an array of fun colors, including a chic leopard print.
 • The Shokz OpenFit are currently on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for $109.95 ($50 off), a new low. Like other pairs of Shokz earbuds, they feature a lightweight, open-style design that’s well-suited for both the gym and everyday use, with an IP55 water resistance rating, relatively clear sound, and a decent amount of low-end thump despite their less conventional design. Read our hands-on impressions.
 • Google’s Pixel Buds A-Series earbuds have hit a new low of $49 ($50 off) at Amazon. The newer Pixel Buds Pro 2 are, unsurprisingly, a huge step up in terms of sound and features, but Google’s discontinued entry-level earbuds are still very good for the money and create a tight seal in your ears to block outside sounds in lieu of proper noise cancellation. Read our review.

Anker’s jack-of-all-trades travel adapter packs enough ports to refill your devices during some downtime. It features one AC outlet, two USB-C ports (one tops out at 20W), and two USB-A ports. It’s not the fastest wall charger, but it’s a solid choice when you can find it at a discount.

 • The Baseus 10,000mAh Picogo is one of the most powerful tiny power banks we’ve seen. It supports 45W output through its built-in USB-C cable, and has an extra USB-C port, plus a USB-A port. You can snag one for $24.69, down from its original $39.99 price at Amazon.
 • You can keep your iPhone and AirPods charged with Belkin’s MagSafe 2-in-1 wireless charging stand, which is down to $59.99 ($4o off) at Amazon, nearly matching its best price to date. While similar models from other brands are often cheaper, this one looks better than most, and it hasn’t sunk this low in price since mid-2023. Belkin’s option also includes a power adapter.
 • The Baseus PrimeTrip VR2 Max has been one of the most popular products for Verge readers recently. The 4-in-1 car charger can put out a combined 163W of power and features two retractable USB-C cables, plus two USB-A ports. It’s tough not to love, especially at its Amazon price of $29.99 ($20 off).

Brandon Widder <![CDATA[Sony’s noise-canceling WH-1000XM6 are already on sale with a $30 gift card]]> https://www.theverge.com/?p=686980 2025-06-14T10:45:16-04:00 2025-06-14T10:45:16-04:00

Less than a month after making their debut, the WH-1000XM6 are on sale at Amazon in black, blue, and platinum with a $30 gift card for $448. It’s not a straight cash discount, sure, but if you were already debating picking up Sony’s latest pair of noise-canceling headphones, it makes the $50 price hike over the last-gen XM5 easier to stomach.

If you were to ignore the steep price hike, the new XM6 are a welcome improvement over the XM5 in every way. They’re outfitted with Sony’s latest noise-cancellation chip, which allows them to do a better job at drowning out the ambient noise you might encounter on the street, at your local coffee shop, or on your next cross-country flight. Their transparency mode is as natural-sounding as ever, too, and thanks to a new set of drivers, they deliver clearer vocals and the same dynamic, rich sound for which the XM series is known.

Design-wise, they also represent an excellent return to form, albeit with a few minor tweaks for added comfort and convenience. They sport a wider headband that’s designed to alleviate pressure during longer listening sessions, along with a redesigned power button that’s easier to distinguish from the onboard ANC button. More importantly, however, they once again collapse with the aid of a joint in each arm, allowing them to take up less room in the included carrying case. As someone who frequently travels with the XM5 — the only pair in the XM series that can’t fold down — I can say the change is greatly appreciated.

Read our hands-on impressions of the XM6.

Brandon Widder <![CDATA[Apple’s latest AirPods Pro with USB-C just received a $70 discount]]> https://www.theverge.com/?p=681365 2025-06-07T10:10:47-04:00 2025-06-07T10:10:47-04:00

This year’s WWDC kicks off in less than a week, which means Apple is likely to announce a string of software changes in short order, some of which are designed to improve Apple’s latest pair of premium earbuds. Thankfully, if you haven’t yet pulled the trigger on the second-gen AirPods Pro, they’re once again on sale at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy for around $169 ($70 off), matching their best price of the year.

AirPods Pro (second-gen) with USB-C

The second-gen AirPods Pro improve upon Apple’s original pair with much better noise cancellation, sound quality, and onboard volume controls. The latest refresh also ships with a USB-C charging case, as opposed to Lightning. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

If you’re an iPhone user, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better pair of noise-canceling earbuds than Apple’s latest AirPods Pro with USB-C. The second-gen model ratchets up the noise cancellation and sound quality, providing dynamic, rich sound and ANC that can go toe-to-toe with Sony’s XM5 and other like-minded rivals. Unlike the cheaper AirPods 4 with ANC, they also feature convenient swipe-based controls and four sets of silicone tips, whereas Apple’s entry-level earbuds still rely on an open-style design that allows more ambient noise in.

As for why they’re the perfect fit for iPhone users, well, that’s easy. The Pro are chock-full of Apple-only features, including head tracking spatial audio, robust Find My support, and automatic device switching. The included speaker-equipped charging case also features a U1 chip for more accurate tracking, and thanks to a software update in the fall, Apple’s high-end earbuds can now protect your hearing and serve as clinical-grade hearing aids. That makes them well-suited for those with mild to moderate hearing loss — or your next Turnstile concert.

Other ways to save this weekend

 • It’s by no means a necessity, but I’ve been ogling the Vestaboard Note ever since the spendy split-flap display went up for sale last month. The nostalgic 24.5-inch board is currently available for preorder from Vestaboard ahead of its December launch starting at $899 ($400 off), and while it only features 45 split-flap mechanisms (as opposed to 132 on the original), it still looks like a delightful way to showcase any message, pattern, or image you create using the accompanying web interface or mobile app.
 • Ugreen’s FineTrack Smart Finder is available for just $9.99 (about $7 off) from Amazon and Ugreen right now, which is the best price we’ve seen on the inexpensive location tracker. Sure, it’s not quite as capable as an AirTag, but it still comes with a two-year replaceable battery, a built-in ringer, and the ability to tap into Apple’s extensive Find My network as necessary. Hell, it even comes with a lanyard hole, which isn’t something we can say about Apple’s tracker.
 • Meta’s entry-level VR headset, the Meta Quest 3S, is on sale once again at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy, where you can pick it up with a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month trial of Meta Horizon Plus for an all-time low of around $269 ($30 off). It’s sort of the middle child in terms of Meta’s headset lineup, as it features the same chipset as the Quest 3 but remains reliant on the same lenses and field of view as the Quest 2. Still, it can play most of the same standalone games as the former, as well as PC-based virtual reality titles if you own a gaming PC. Read our review.

Magnetic Joy-Cons, here we come.

The Switch 2 has finally landed, but it isn’t the only hardware Nintendo is launching this week. The company also introduced a range of new accessories for its new gaming console, the bulk of which are now available online at Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target. From a redesigned Pro Controller to a camera that lets you video chat with your friends, each is designed to level up your gaming experience.

Sadly, President Trump’s on-again, off-again tariff policy has resulted in slight price bumps on several Switch 2 accessories — including the aforementioned Pro 2 Controller. There’s no telling whether we can expect more price hikes down the line, either, meaning if you have secured a Switch 2 and want to pick up a second controller or another accessory to go with it, now might be the time to act.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

The removable Joy-Cons are great for portable and wireless play, but their small, curveless design can feel cramped during longer sessions if you have larger hands. That’s why the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller might be worth a look, especially if you mostly game in TV mode. The upgraded version of one of our favorite Nintendo Switch controller features a few welcome improvements, including a pair of rear GL and GR buttons players can use to remap other controls. Nintendo has also finally added a 3.5mm audio jack, allowing you to pair it with a headset or a set of wired headphones. The gamepad even features the aforementioned “C” button.

As of writing, you can pick up a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller for $84.99 at Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Antonline. It’s also currently on sale at Costco for $74.99 ($10 off), though, per usual, you’ll need a premium membership to take advantage of the latter deal.

Where to Buy:

Joy-Con 2 controllers

Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers are bigger than the original and snap onto the Switch 2 magnetically, eliminating the need for sliding rails. The right Joy-Con also features the new “C” button, which you can use to pull up Nintendo’s new in-game chat system, GameChat, which will be free until March 31st, 2026. While the second-gen controllers don’t feature Hall effect joysticks, Nintendo says they’ve been redesigned for smoother movement. The Joy-Con 2s also feature new optical sensors, which let you them like mice in compatible games.

The Switch 2 comes with a pair of Joy-Cons, but if you want a second pair, you can currently grab them for around $94 at Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and the My Nintendo Store.

Where to Buy:

Joy-Con 2 Wheel (set of two)

If you plan on picking up the new Mario Kart World — or you were lucky enough to snag Nintendo’s limited time bundle — the Joy-Con 2 Wheels are worth a look. Simply snap the Joy-Con 2 controllers, which connect magnetically, into the steering wheel attachments before booting up your preferred racing title. The two-wheel set is currently available for around $24.88 from Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Nintendo.

Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector

The Switch 2 is a pricey gadget you’ll want to keep safe, so it’s a good idea to invest in a carrying case like the Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector. We’ll likely see a wealth of third-party brands release their own version in the coming weeks, but Nintendo’s proprietary offering is one of the few reputable offerings available at launch.

The bundle — which includes a console-only carrying case, screen protector, and cleaning cloth — is only available for around $39.88 at Walmart and Target, even if it was originally available elsewhere.

Where to Buy:

Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case

Nintendo also just launched an All-In-One Carrying Case, which is more spacious than the model mentioned above. The higher-end case features separate compartments for stowing the console and various goodies, including the Switch 2 dock, Joy-Con 2 controllers, cables, and up to six game cards.

Unfortunately, while it was initially available at most big-name retailers (including Walmart and GameStop), it’s currently only available directly from Nintendo for $84.99.

Where to Buy:

Nintendo Switch 2 Camera

Supposedly, you can video chat with friends via GameChat using any compatible USB-C camera, but Nintendo offers its own solution in the form of the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera. The 1080p camera is designed to sit on a stand, allowing you to display your face as a picture-in-picture overlay or as a dedicated video feed. A few titles, such as the upgraded version of Super Mario Party Jamboree, let you see your friends on-screen while you play. Some mini-games even incorporate the camera into the game experience itself.

The camera features an adjustable wide-angle lens, designed to capture groups of people in a single shot, as well as a “high-sensitivity image sensor” that automatically adjusts brightness levels. It also features a built-in privacy shutter and includes a USB-C charging cable, as well as support for TV, tabletop, and handheld modes.

You can currently order it for around $54 from Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Nintendo.

Where to Buy:

Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip

Unlike the standard Joy-Con 2 grip that comes with the Switch 2, Nintendo’s so-called Charging Grip features customizable GL and GR buttons — just like the Switch 2 Pro Controller — and can be used to charge your Joy-Cons via an included USB-C cable. Otherwise, it appears pretty similar in functionality to the original Switch’s charging grip, allowing you to combine the Joy-Con 2 controllers for a more traditional gamepad.

Right now, you can pick up the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip starting at $39.88 from Walmart, GameStop, and Nintendo.

Other Switch 2 accessories

Nintendo also released a handful of smaller accessories this week, including Joy-Con 2 straps, AC adapters, and a standalone dock set for those who want a second. They can be found via the retailers below in most instances.

Update, June 5th: Updated to reflect current pricing and availability, as well as the release of several new accessories.

You might even be able to beat the in-store frenzy, if you act fast.

Update, June 5th: Walmart, GameStop, and BJ’s Wholesale Club have seemingly sold out of their available Switch 2 inventory, at least online. Target is set to open online preorders on June 6th; however, it’s also possible that some retailers still have units available in-store. Costco members may be able to order a bundle with a 12-month Switch Online card now.

The Switch 2 is here. Nintendo’s latest console launches in the US on June 5th, bringing with it more processing power, a larger 7.9-inch LCD display, and an all-new racing title in the form of Mario Kart World. Preorders for the $449 hybrid console sold out ahead of launch; however, if you’re looking to grab one now, rest assured that a handful of retailers have announced availability, both in-store and online.

So far, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target have all confirmed that they will have limited console stock on Thursday, June 5th (or earlier, depending on your location). The same retailers will also have the new Switch 2 Pro Controller, the Switch 2 camera, first-party carrying cases, and other launch-day accessories.

We’ll be publishing a ton of Switch-related coverage in the coming days — including our full Switch 2 review — but in the meantime, we’ve rounded up all the details you need to know if you want to attempt to secure a console on day one. After all, there’s no telling what post-launch availability will be like, despite Nintendo’s attempts to build up an inventory of its next-gen portable system to meet demand.

Retailer landing pages

Nintendo Switch 2

Where to Buy:

Walmart

You can snag a Switch 2 at Walmart Supercenters starting on June 5th at 12AM ET / June 4th at 9PM PT, while supplies last. Online orders are now open, although, as expected, stock is limited and subject to availability. In terms of what’s on offer, Walmart’s launch day slate includes both the standalone Switch 2 ($449) and the Mario Kart World bundle ($499), along with games and the following accessories:

GameStop

GameStop previously confirmed that it will have additional Switch 2 stock available both in-store and online when the console launches on June 5th. In-store launch events — including in-store pickups — have already begun, as have online orders.

As of right now, the retailer is offering both the standalone console ($449.99) and the Mario Kart World bundle ($499.99), as well as games like Mario Kart World ($79.99) and Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ($79.99). You can also purchase the following accessories both in-store and online:

Best Buy

As detailed on Best Buy’s landing page for the Switch 2, “most stores will have a limited inventory of systems, games, and accessories for in-store purchase” beginning on June 5th at 12:01AM ET / June 4th at 9:01PM PT. Best Buy previously stipulated that it anticipated people lining up ahead of the console’s midnight release, including those who previously preordered the standalone console ($449.99) or the Mario Kart World bundle ($499.99) and are showing up for in-store pickup.

Several games and accessories are currently available for purchase online; however, the retailer previously specified that it will not be accepting online orders for the console itself during launch week.

BJ’s Wholesale Club

Surprisingly, BJ’s Wholesale Club has opened online preorders for both the standalone Switch 2 console ($449.99) and the Mario Kart World bundle ($499.99). Like other BJ’s purchases, it requires a premium Club membership, which starts at $60 a year and grants you access to free same-day deliveries, up to 25 percent off grocery store purchases, and other rewards perks.

Target

If you can wait until the morning or later this week, Target has confirmed that it will offer both the standalone Switch 2 ($449.99) and the Mario Kart World bundle ($499.99) in-store on launch day, with online orders opening in the “early morning” on June 6th. Consoles will be limited to one per guest, and according to its FAQ, there will be a “designated queuing location” for customers to line up before stores open on June 5th. Target employees will distribute physical or digital tickets either until all tickets have been claimed or 10 minutes prior to opening. If you do manage to obtain one, your console purchase is guaranteed.

As expected, Target will offer “additional software, amiibo and accessories” while supplies last. The retailer wasn’t clear on which accessories will be available on June 5th, though based on prior preorder availability, we expect the following:

Costco

Nintendo Switch 2

Where to Buy:

If you’re a Costco member, you can buy the Mario Kart World bundle with a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack membership for $524.99. That individual membership normally costs $49.99 per year, so you save $25 on it with this console bundle. It’s the only way Costco is selling the console at this time, and its site indicates Switch 2 consoles will ship out as soon as June 6th. There are no details about in-store availability. You may just have to check your local Costco warehouse to see if you get lucky in-person.

Costco isn’t stocking much else in terms of Switch 2 accessories or games just yet, but it’s offering members the Switch 2 Pro Controller for $74.99 ($10 off) and a preorder of Donkey Kong Bananza for $62.99 ($6 off).

Other retailers

If you don’t anticipate having any luck with any of the aforementioned retailers, there are a handful of alternatives that might have Switch 2 stock on June 5th. Staples, Sam’s Club, Antonline, and Newegg are all expected to offer Nintendo’s latest console online at some point, as evident by their respective landing pages for the Switch 2.

Sheena Vasani Brandon Widder <![CDATA[Sony’s DualSense Edge controller is receiving a rare $30 discount]]> https://www.theverge.com/?p=677650 2025-05-30T20:33:26-04:00 2025-05-31T10:00:00-04:00

Sony might have just recently introduced a new low price on the PlayStation 5 Pro with its latest Days of Play sale, but that’s not the only deal worth your attention. Sony is also offering a range of accessories at a discount, including the high-end DualSense Edge. Regularly $199.99, the customizable controller is available from Amazon, Best Buy, and Sony for an all-time low of $169 through June 11th.

Sony DualSense Edge

Sony’s pro-style controller, the DualSense Edge, might suffer from shorter battery life than the standard DualSense model, but it features great software integration with the PlayStation 5 and plenty of customizable components.
A picture of the DualSense Edge leaning on its included hard zip-up case.

Where to Buy:

If you’re looking for a highly customizable controller, the Edge is a great option that offers excellent software integration with the PS5. The premium gamepad lets you effortlessly switch between up to four personalized profiles, each of which lets you customize things like stick sensitivity and rear button controls. It’s just as easy to swap out stick modules, too, allowing you to quickly replace the stick tops should they ever wear out. What’s more, the rear triggers feature adjustable stops, so you can control how far they can be pressed and fine-tune your response time in shooters and other competitive games.

Additionally, the Edge offers the same haptics and adaptive triggers found on Sony’s standard DualSense controller, along with two styles of rear paddles, each suited to a different grip preference. Its charging cable also features a handy locking mechanism to ensure it won’t get yanked out while gaming; however, the Edge is limited to approximately eight hours of battery life when used wirelessly, meaning it doesn’t last quite as long as the OG DualSense. I guess that’s the price you pay for souped-up components and software, at least with Sony.

 • Now through tomorrow, June 1st, you can grab the last-gen Oura Ring Generation 3 at Wellbots in the Heritage configuration for $195 ($104 off) or the Horizon config for $210 ($90 off) when using coupon code OURAVERGE25. They’re functionally the same smart ring even if the design is slightly different, meaning you’ll be able to track your sleeping habits and other health metrics — including your heart rate, SpO2 levels, and menstrual cycle — no matter which size or model you decide to go with. • We might be alone in thinking this, but we’d argue that Govee’s new Gaming Pixel Light was one of the coolest gizmos to come out of CES 2025. And right now, it’s available directly from Govee for an all-time low of $95.99 ($24 off) or at Amazon starting at $101.99 ($18 off). The Alexa-compatible grid can display art, animations, and live data, letting you view pixelated details on everything from the weather to the latest NBA scores. It also has an AI component, like everything else, if you’re not much of an artist yourself.
 • Both Amazon and Anker have dropped the price of Anker’s MagGo Wireless Charging Station to $63.99 ($26 off) for the next couple of days, though you’ll need to punch in offer code WS7DV29E602L at the latter retailer. The adjustable 3-in-1 stand is yet another solid option if you want to top off a pair of AirPods and an Apple Watch alongside your phone, especially since the Qi2 dock can supply up to 15W of power to MagSafe-ready iPhone models.
