Nintendo has delayed Switch 2 preorders in Canada, which were set to start on April 9th, according to a statement shared with MobileSyrup. Last week, the company delayed preorders in the US because of the potential impact of the Trump administration’s new tariffs.
“Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada will not start on April 9, 2025 in order to align with the timing of preorders to be determined in the US,” Nintendo of Canada said to MobileSyrup. “Nintendo will provide updated information at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged.”
The company hosted a Switch 2-focused Direct on April 2nd to reveal details about the console and games for the platform, including that Mario Kart World and upgraded versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available as launch titles.
But that same day, President Donald Trump announced the major new tariffs, and they could mean we’ll have to pay more for all gadgets.
